Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how NO BORING SHOPS L.L.C-FZ (“we”, “us”), operator of the TeamIntel service in the United Arab Emirates, processes personal data in connection with this website and the TeamIntel service. It is written to the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021). Where we process the personal data of people in the European Union, the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies in addition, and we apply the higher standard rather than the nearer one.

1. Data controller

2. Data we collect

We collect what you give us directly: your name, work email and organisation when you request a sample batch or write to us, together with usage data and technical data (IP address, browser type, device information).

When you use the TeamIntel service, we process the case data you send us on your documented instructions and under the data-processing agreement we sign before anything moves. In that relationship you are the controller and we are the processor.

3. Lawful basis for processing

We process personal data on the following bases under the PDPL:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the service you asked for
  • Our legitimate interests — to understand which pages answer our visitors’ questions, and to secure the service
  • Your consent — for anything you opted into, which you may withdraw at any time
  • Compliance with a legal obligation — for tax, accounting and regulatory record-keeping

We do not make decisions producing legal effects about you by automated means alone. The TeamIntel service is built the other way round — Article 18 of the PDPL is answered by architecture rather than by policy, and a named person releases every material action.

4. How we use your data

To provide and operate the service, to reply to you, to keep the service secure, and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal data, and we do not train models on it.

5. Sharing and sub-processors

We share personal data only with sub-processors necessary to deliver the service, each bound by a written agreement. The sub-processors that touch your case data are named in the data-processing agreement before you sign it, rather than referenced by a link that can change. A current list is available on request.

6. Where data is held, and transfers

Two different things are held in two different places, and the distinction matters.

  • Your case data — the queue we work — is held in your own dedicated instance, in the region agreed with you before the first case moves, with customer-managed keys.
  • Website data — the aggregate usage measurement described in section 7 — is processed by analytics software we host ourselves in the European Union. That is a transfer outside the UAE, made on the basis of the safeguards in our agreements with the recipients.

7. Cookies and website analytics

This website sets exactly two cookies, both of which only remember a choice you made. NEXT_LOCALE holds the language you are reading, as its two letters and nothing else. ti_region holds which country site you chose when we offered you another one — either that site’s name or the word “stay” if you declined — so that we do not ask again. Both are strictly necessary for the service you asked for. To decide whether to offer you another country’s site, we look up which country your IP address belongs to. That lookup runs on our own server against a database stored on it: your address is not sent anywhere, it is not written down, and the country is used for that one decision and then discarded. The database is GeoLite2 by MaxMind, which includes GeoNames data (CC BY 4.0); MaxMind is not contacted when you visit.

Two further values are stored in your browser’s local storage, not as cookies: your selected colour theme and whether the assistant panel is open. Both stay on your device, are never transmitted to us, and identify nobody.

We measure aggregate website usage (pages viewed, how far a page is read, which links are used) with analytics software we host ourselves. No third-party tracker runs on this site, no advertising network is involved, and no identifier is stored on your device that would let us recognise you on a later visit. Your IP address is processed transiently to derive a country and is not stored by us.

Because nothing stored on your device requires permission and nothing identifies you, this site shows no cookie banner. There is nothing here to consent to, and we would rather say so than ask you a question we do not need answered.

8. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for. A sample batch is deleted on completion by default, and on request at any time; what we keep is the fact that the work was done, not the work itself. Contact data is kept for the duration of our relationship. Records we are required to retain for tax or regulatory reasons are kept for the period the law requires.

9. Your rights

Under the PDPL you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you, and receive a copy
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Have data erased where we have no continuing basis to keep it
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Receive your data in a portable form
  • Withdraw a consent you gave, at any time, without affecting what was lawful before
  • Complain to the competent data protection authority in the United Arab Emirates

10. Data security

Encryption at rest and in transit, access controls, dedicated per-customer instances, customer-managed keys, and read-only access by default. A write scope into your systems is a separate decision, taken by you and logged when it is taken.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Significant changes are notified by email or through the service, and the date at the top of this page always says when it last changed.
